George C. Miller II, MD
George C. Miller II, MD moved to Lewisburg in 1978 to establish the practice
that exists today.
Born in Elmira, NY and raised in Watkins Glen, NY, he was also active in Boy Scouts,
earning the Eagle Scout award in 1960. Miller graduated from The Mercersburg
Academy in 1964. Union College (BS Science) in 1968. Albany (NY) Medical
College (MD) in 1972, and completed a 4 year internship/residency in
OB/GYN at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut in 1972-76.
After a two-year tour where he practiced OB/GYN and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, he moved to Lewisburg, where he currently resides. He is board certified in OB/GYN and has been recertified in 1991 and 1999.
Throughout his career Miller has been patient-oriented. He opened the first birthing room at Evangelical Community Hospital and was instrumental in the opening of the cesarean facility in the delivery room
He has served as Legislative Chair of the Pa. State ACOG District III Section. While on that committee the "drive through delivery bill" as well as the "access to healthcare for women bill" passed into law.
His outside interests include triathlon: swim, bike, run, and has been able to complete the Boston Marathon, Western States 100, and the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon. He has used concepts of fitness, diet and nutrition learned in sports to help his OB/GYN patients.
His medical interests include high risk pregnancy and prepared childbirth, vaginal surgery and environmental issues. He is currently working on a book entitled Environmental Gynecology which will focus on the changes in our environment and implications for healthcare especially for pregnancy and gynecology issues. Miller has lectured on this and other topics at National Medical meetings including the annual ACOG meeting and has also spoken to local groups.
Through all of this, Miller continues to enjoy one-on-one patient care as he considers his healthcare role in the office of paramount importance.
